Expanding the possibilities |

The nanoresins research department is constantly working on specific, application-related problems. And here, the question of which technologies produce a solution only comes second for us: our main priority is always the optimum benefit to the customer. Three examples of our research activities: Adhesives For the car industry, nanoresins develops innovative basic materials for crash-resistant structural adhesives that harden at room temperature. We are also working to improve electronics adhesives that remain flexible at low temperatures. Fiber composites From aircraft to tankers: fibre composite structures are relevant in the construction of nearly all means of transport. By using nanoparticles – sometimes hand-in-hand with modifications to improve fracture-resistance – the properties profiles can be massively improved. This applies in particular to carbon and fiberglass composites with epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester resins. Nanoparticles & elastomers Another focus of the research at nanoresins is the way hard silica nanoparticles and soft elastomer particles act in combination in reactive resins such as epoxy resins. Our aim is to achieve new combinations of properties that will help our clients tap new markets. |
