Knowledge creates safety

Many of the successful products on the market today owe their special properties to industrially manufactured nanoparticles. But making responsible use of the potential that nanotech offers also means investigating possible effects on health and the environment, in order to make out risks early on and to then take appropriate measures to combat them.

In developing its nanoparticles, nanoresins has followed a safe course: the SiO₂ nanoparticles are always bound into a matrix, which is usually liquid before processing, and together with this matrix they form a so-called colloidal solution or nanocomposite. In this way we ensure that individual nanoparticles do not enter the biosphere. After the nanoparticles have been processed by the client, the particles are bound in a fixed polymer matrix from which they cannot be removed.
