Product overview Technical data (no specification)
Improvement to properties Adhesives based on acrylic monomers and oligomers, unsaturated polyester or vinyl ester resins, cured radically or by UV radiation, are often very brittle. With Albidur®, based on a core-shell silicone rubber, toughened adhesives with a low viscosity can be formulated. No loss in modulus or glass transition temperature is found when using Albidur®, because it is a reactive silicone rubber particle dispersion. How it works
The mechanism is exactly the same as described in chapter 4 for modified epoxy resin adhesives. The silicone rubber particles used in the Albidur® grades for acrylic, UP and VE resin adhesives have methacrylic groups grafted on the particle surface. |
